Rashad D. Thomas is a civic leader, executive coach, and speaker known for his ability to bridge the worlds of business, government, and community. As the Regional Director for AT&T Florida, he oversees local and government relations across Miami-Dade and parts of Broward County—helping connect technology, policy, and people in ways that strengthen communities and create opportunities for growth.
With over 18 years in Miami-Dade County government, Rashad’s career spans roles in policy, legislative affairs, community development, and special projects. He has served as Assistant to the Deputy Mayor, leading the County’s COVID-19 Response Team, where he coordinated essential business operations, senior meal programs, and reopening strategies that balanced safety with economic recovery.
Before his time in the Mayor’s Office, Rashad served as Vice President of Business Connect & Legacy Projects for the Miami Super Bowl LIV Host Committee, where he played a key role in ensuring local businesses and diverse entrepreneurs were included in one of the city’s most impactful events. He also directed Strategic Partnerships and Community Relations at PortMiami, one of the busiest ports in the world.
A proud graduate of Bethune-Cookman University and a participant in the Harvard Business School Young American Leaders Program, Rashad’s educational and professional journey reflects his lifelong commitment to leadership, equity, and service.
But beyond titles and achievements, Rashad is a devoted husband and father who believes that true leadership begins at home. He often credits his family for grounding his perspective and inspiring his philosophy of Work–Life Harmony — the belief that success is sustainable only when balance and well-being are part of the equation.
When he’s not speaking or coaching, Rashad enjoys spending quality time with his wife Shannon and their three sons — Rashad Jr., Rashaun, and Rasheem — who motivate him to lead by example, live with integrity, and leave a legacy of love and impact.
